ROE 02
provides support services to the 19 school districts in
Alexander,
Johnson, Massac, Pulaski, and Union Counties in southernmost
Illinois.
Instructional Coach /
Professional Development Coordinator
The REGIONAL OFFICE OF EDUCATION 02 is accepting
applications for a part-time INSTRUCTIONAL COACH/PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR position. This position would be to
assist identified schools with data analysis and school
improvement development, review standards-aligned curriculum and
assessment development, encourage teacher and administrator
performance enhancement, enhance student, parent and community
support as well as organize professional development
opportunities. To apply, please send a resume and cover letter

Asbestos
Awareness Refresher
Course
OSHA regulations require that maintenance / custodial personnel
in public schools who work/clean around asbestos containing
materials be trained annually.

Time: 9:00 - 11:00 A.M.
Cost: $25 per person - Check made payable to HSE Consulting,
Inc.

Medal of Honor Video
At the annual
Regional Office of Education 02 Fall Institute, a short film was
shown about the Congressional Medal of Honor. This film is
to be shown to all 7th graders and high school students.
The law requiring this is quoted below:
105 ILCS 5/27‑3.5)
Sec. 27‑3.5. Congressional Medal of Honor film. Each school
district shall require that all students in grade 7 and all high
school students enrolled in a course concerning history of the
United States or a combination of history of the United States
and American government view a Congressional Medal of Honor film
made by the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation. This
requirement does not apply if the Congressional Medal of Honor
Foundation charges the school district a fee for a film.
